Die folgende Tabelle gibt einen Überblick über die Mitglieder der Lokalen Gruppe. Ich habe die
Mitglieder nach Untergruppen sortiert. Da gibt es z. B. die Milchstraße
und ihre Begleiter. Eine zweite Untergruppe ist die Andromedagalaxie M 31 mit ihren
Begleitern, eine dritte die Triangulumgalaxie M 33 und eine vierte die Galaxie
NGC 3109.
Einige Zwerggalaxien lassen sich allerdings nicht einer dieser vier Untergruppen
zuordnen, weil sie zu weit von den großen Galaxien entfernt sind oder ihre Zugehörigkeit zu einer
dieser vier Untergruppen nicht gesichert ist. Die Bezeichnung "dw" steht für dwarf, was
Zwerg bedeutet.
